Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) is something very much at the forefront of what we do. This being said, sexual violence and abuse can and does affect ANYONE – boys and men included. We’ve always been working hard to draw attention to this matter on its own, to reduce stigma around male victims, and our doors are always open to male survivors.
Following an initiative from the Male Survivors Partnership, MP Ben Obese-Jecty is due to have his Second Reading on the strategy to tackle Interpersonal Abuse and Violence Against Men and Boys on 13th June (rescheduled from 16th May) and we are eager to see what comes next in this sense.
We fully encourage the development of a separate strategy to address the need for appropriate support for men and boys who are victims of sexual violence and abuse.
You too can be part of the change! You can write to your MPs and ask them to support this motion.
